Environmental

The owners of Villa Merdu are dedicated to the protection of our planets resources and would encourage our guests to help us by:

 

* Switching off lights when not in use;

* Switching off the AC in your bedrooms when you leave the room;

* Ensuring that taps are always turned off after use;

* Avoiding the unnecessary use of towels – just use what you need!;

* We provide recyclable rubbish options in the kitchen, that gets collected every Friday via Eco-Bali

Fire

 

If a fire occurs in the villa please move to the carpark area, as per the evacuation plan.
There is a list of numbers to call to alert Ubud police, fire office & local village police.
In case of a small fire, there is an extinguisher in the kitchen cupboard next to the refrigerator.

Noise

 

As with all villages in Bali, there is a general curfew time of 11pm. Also, to be respectful of other guests staying at Villa Merdu, we request that you keep the noise to a minimum after such hours.
You will require prior consent to hold parties or large gatherings at Villa Merdu.

 

The village (Junjungan Banjar) must be notified, and if approved, you will need to pay a small fee to a local village representative (known as Pecallang) to manage parking and security.

Children

 

Unfortunately NO CHILDREN under the age of 10 years old. We have this policy in place due to size of villa.  NO fencing around the pool, minimal railings, & a large ravine on the northern side of villa, make the area dangerous to children.  

 

We apologise in advance, and understand that you will give assurances and guarantees to watch your child or children, but please respect our decision on this matter. Safety is our first priority.

Smoking

 

Smoking is allowed in the common areas, but NOT in the bedrooms.

Reservations

 

The price for each room, the main suite or for the entire house is clearly listed on the website. This will indicate prices for the different seasons and special deals such as last minute offers.  If you have a pre-arranged inclusion of airport transfers, tour, massages, spa treatments, or in-house food, it will be stated on your reservation email.  In agreeing to & booking with Villa Merdu, you also agree to the following:


It is agreed that the guest will conduct him/herself in a respectable manner and will not cause any nuisance or annoyance within the hotel premise.  The Management has the right to request any guest to vacate his/her room or other areas of the villa forthwith, without previous notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever, and the guest shall be bound to vacate when requested to do so.  In case of the default, the Management has the right to remove the guest luggage and belongings from the room occupied by him/her.

Cancellations

 

You can cancel a booking up until 14 days prior to arrival, without penalty.  Should you cancel 14 days or less before your arrival date, you will be charged 50% of the booking fee.  If you cancel within 7 days or less, before arrival, you will be charged the full amount.  Please consider taking out travel insurance for your holiday before you book with Villa Merdu.

Security Deposit and Damages

 

A $250 USD will be held for the duration of your booking in case of:


(a) any breakages or damages etc.
(b) infestation of a room by a guest, you will be charged accordingly in relation to replacement bedding &/or furniture.
(c) theft
(d) fire

If any damage has occurred to the villa, you are required to advise management immediately.

Pets

 

There are no pets allowed in the villa.
